Though we don’t really experience ‘the real cold’ that exists up North, the animals in the ocean have endured frigid ocean temperatures this winter…’endured’ maybe being too lively of a word to use. We had a large sea star kill off of Isle of Palms with 1,000s washed up. A fish kill happened on Folly Beach with an estimated 40,000 fish dead [and around $6,000 to clean it up]. This weekend, when we walked the southern end of Folly, there were cold stunned sea stars still washing up. I’m sure, more than we, they are wishing for summer to come back!
